to People and Planet
The time is always right to do what is right.
In care for people, planet and the conscious evolution of humankind.
For more than seventeen years, volunteering and pro-bono work have been part of how I live my love and commitment to humanity and the natural world.
Sustained volunteering, pro-bono work, advocacy and reciprocity have exposed me into diverse communities, environments, deepening my understanding of different lived realities and widening my perspective on the world.
These experiences have allowed me to gain insight into the broader picture of the state of the world, additionally fostering my personal and professional growth, and shaping of my worldview.
These insights continue to shape me and deepen my sense of responsibility. Giving is also receiving: perspective, connection, and a fuller understanding of what it means to care.
Ways I have contributed
Empowering Youth
I helped mobilize corporate donations and co-organize corporate donations to fund various sustainability initiatives like Plant-for-the-Planet Academies, including for my son’s school. These experiences enabled students to become Climate Justice Ambassadors, supporting their capacity to care for the Earth and take action.
Sustainability Leadership
At a time when sustainability was still emerging in the events industry, I designed and led an award-winning corporate event sustainability strategy, bringing environmental and social responsibility into how corporate events were planned and delivered. Global Volunteer Recognition
During my corporate time at Symantec, a former leading global security software company, I was named Volunteer of the Quarter in recognition of my volunteering alongside my professional role.
Adoption Community Engagement
I have supported adoption families and refugee networks through marketing and communications, and contribute to annual clothing collections that help fund a water project in Peru.
Climate Advocacy
As a volunteer Climate Reality Leader, I have raised awareness of climate action and mentored new leaders during global Climate Reality Leadership Corps trainings. I also provided strategic sustainability support for the launch of Plant-for-the-Planet’s Trillion Tree Campaign Launch event.
Pro-Bono Support for Indigenous Wisdom Preservation
Through pro-bono collaboration with the Wiraqocha Foundation and Centro Cultural Hatun Q’eros, I have contributed general strategic and marketing guidance and support including advice on a regenerative tourism approach.
Advocacy for SDGs
I facilitated workshops introducing the Sustainable Development Goals to the school board and parents at my son’s school, as well as to the wider public, exploring our shared responsibility for a more sustainable world.
Hogar San Pedro in Peru
Through clothing donations and personal visits, I supported Hogar San Pedro, a medical and convalescence centre in Peru, offering practical help, appreciation and human connection.
Visit of Government Orphanages in Peru
Driven by a deep love for children, Claudia and her son visited government orphanages in Lima together over the years. Spending time with children facing vulnerabilities, orphans and those with special needs, and sharing moments of play, laughter, presence and genuine human connection deepened Claudia's commitment to advocacy and compassion. These visits also became a meaningful way to nurture empathy in her son from a young age, inspiring in him a vision of care and kindness as a way of life.
Child Sponsor
For more than seventeen years, I have been supporting a children through Plan International, whose work advances children’s rights and equality for girls and challenges deep-rooted inequality to drive change. Visiting sponsored children and their communities in Peru has brought me closer to their everyday realities, deepening the relationship beyond financial support. Q’ero Indigenous Community
My continuing study with Q’ero masters is also a relationship of reciprocity, expressed through tuition, donations for restoration projects, school supplies for children, and sharing the teachings. Wisdom keepers of a living spiritual and cultural heritage rooted in the Inka tradition, the Q’ero communities live in the high Andes at altitudes of 4,200-4,600 meters above sea level under harsh and demanding conditions. Deeply moved by this heritage and their relationship with the living world, I continue to learn from their wisdom and practices.
